1. What does "remanufactured" actually mean?
A typical process involves inspection, total tear down of used OEM cartridge into parts for requalifying of reusable components, calibrate, formulation of toners and replacement of key components such as the OPC ( Organic Photo-conduction Drum), corona wire assembly, wiper blade, PCR (Primary Charge Roller), and magnetic roller; to support the nest shelf life of a finish product. Compared to a new OEM cartridge consists of recycled and new components.

2. Will I see a difference between new OEM cartridges and remanufactured?
No, cartridges are remanufactured to OEM specification.  Every cartridge undergoes 100 percent post-testing to ensure quality before packaging. This means that quality, performance, and yield (page account) are equal to or better than OEM. Performance wise, remanufactured cartridges are virtually indistinguishable from OEM. Cartridge Manufacturers rate yield using a formula. The page yield on toner cartridge depends on what types of printing you are doing. Manufacturers yield estimate is based on each 8.5 *11 inch sheet with 5 percent of the page black. (The formula is a capital E, in 12 point courier, printed 960 times on a page). One logo or an accountant printing tax form and data, could use twice that amount of toner. Similarly, graphics application printing will contribute much more heavy waste toner and results in visually lesser pages that usual office text printing usage.

3. Why should I buy a remanufactured cartridge instead of a new?
There are 2 prime reasons for using remanufactured cartridges. ● Cost savings ●Environmental supportive
Also, toner cartridge sold to you as new by some OEM manufacturers are actually remanufactured as well. Look at the bottoms or side of your Box. Some say "Made in Japan from the highest quality new and recycled materials”While others state " this newly manufactured product may contain parts and materials recovered from the Planet Partners Recycling Programs" or "This cartridge may contain reconditioned parts".  You are probably paying too much for what is actually a "recycled" cartridge.

4. Can I really save money by using remanufactured toner cartridges?
Yes, by using IKON remanufactured toner cartridge, you can save as much as 25 to 65 percent depending on cartridge model. Depending on the quantity of cartridges you and your company uses, your savings can amount to thousands of dollars each year. THE MORE YOU USE, THE MORE YOU SAVE.

5. How does remanufactured toner cartridge help the environment?
Remanufactured toner cartridges reduce the amount of non-biodegradable plastic in landfills. Additionally, the manufacturing process used to create new cartridges depends heavily on fossil fuels, usually imported fossil fuels. Each discarded empty laser printer cartridges adds approximately three pounds of unnecessary waste to our landfills. This waste will take as long as 10 centuries to decompose. It is estimated that 500 million laser printer cartridges and 1 trillion inkjet printer cartridges are produced each year. Remanufacturing these cartridges will save enormous areas of landfill space and further minimize environment pollution. The supplies and consumers products remanufacturing industry has made and at the same time,  provide a better economical alternatives to the market and will continue to contribute a substantial positive impact upon the environment and the economy wherever it exists.

6. Is there a downside to remanufactures toner cartridge?
No, unless you are buying a toner cartridge that are refilled without going through proper remanufacturing process, ie qualifying of components, testing, formulation to support next shelf life and prevention of mid-cycle failures with an equivalent page yield of the OEM cartridge. In another words, more values for money. Using a remanufactured toner cartridge saves money, helps preserve the environment, provides as high a quality product, and helps support local small businesses. Most governmental agencies and multi-National companies now require the use of remanufactured cartridges when available.

7. What is the most challenging issue in using remanufactured toner cartridges?
One word, consumer education. The toner remanufacturing industry is relatively new, about 12 years old. The industry is working diligently to educate the consumer about the value of remanufactured cartridges. It is estimated that about 33 percent of Amercian businesses use remanufactured cartridges. Many toner remanufacturers hope that through continuous consumer education, more and more users will realize the added value of remanufactured products and services.

8. Why would the people who sold me my laser printer said that I need to buy original cartridges and will void our machine warranty if I use compatible/ remanufactured cartridges?
No! This pratice is prohitited by the US Clayton Act, Magnussen Warranty Improvement Act, Cun ida competition Act and other statutes. Profit margin and lesser time needed to close the deal at the expense of user! Research has shown that the profit margin of laser printers is so low, and with the selling price dropping regularly, the only way most retailers can afford to stock them is by making sizable profits on the supplies. Similarly, research also shown that it takes at least twice as much time for a salesperson to sell an compatibles/remanufactured cartridges than an original toner cartridges, especially to a first time user. Most salesperson would prefer to use the time that is needed to educate consumer and help consumer to same more money, for closing another deal.

9. I have tried compatible toner cartridges before, but I was not satisfied with the quality. How do I know yours will be different?
Remanufactured/Compatible toner cartridge technology has now reached the level of the original manufactures, if not better. The days of drill and fill are over. Today the remanufacturing industry is pretty mature in its technology with available quality aftermarket components to support the industry. IKON guarantees that its remanufactured laser toner will perform as well as the original equipment manufacturers supplies under similar conditions.

10. How long can I store a toner cartridge before using it?
We recommend using the toner cartridge within the expiry period (refers to expiry period imprinted on packaging). Better yet, use it within six month, since the performance will deteriorate over time. When you get a new delivery, remember to rotate stock, using the oldest cartridge first. Store at room temperature. Any toner stored in direct sunlight, or extreme heat or cold, will have diminished performance. It is best to keep the toner cartridge sealed in its bag until ready to use.

11. How do I know if I am having a problem with my laser printer or toner cartridge?
Place another cartridge in your printer and test it out. If the problem disappears, its the cartridge. We recommend you to keep an extra cartridge on hand for several reasons: first, if your cartridge runs out, you will have a spare to use immediately, second, you can find out right away if the problem is with the cartridge or the printer.

12. Will there ever be toner cartridge failures?
There will be occasional failures in all cartridges new or re-cycle. Our cartridges are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use till the expiry period. We will replace any cartridge which fails under this warranty.
